This August, STEM Sprouts Kenya launches the Sister Schools Network, connecting girls from Mombasa, Nairobi, Siaya, and Mumias into one learning community built around STEM, AI, coding, robotics, drones, innovation, leadership, and real-world problem solving.
Why This Matters
STEM opportunities in Kenya have long been concentrated in a handful of schools, cities, and privileged spaces. Thousands of capable girls have been told to wait their turn, scale back their ambitions, or settle for less. The result is a widening skills gap at the exact moment Kenya is entering an AI-driven future.
The future will not wait for education systems to catch up. Artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, climate technology, data science, and digital innovation are already reshaping industries. The girls who get exposure today become tomorrow's engineers, scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
More Than a Program
The Sister Schools Network is not a holiday workshop series. It is a pipeline, a bridge between schools, counties, and opportunities. Girls learn together, build together, solve problems together, and see possibilities beyond their immediate environment.
When a girl in Mumias collaborates with a girl in Nairobi, when a student in Siaya shares ideas with a student in Mombasa, something changes. Networks form. Confidence grows. Innovation becomes local. Dreams become achievable.
Kenya does not have a shortage of talented girls. It has a shortage of pathways. STEM Sprouts is building those pathways, one school, one girl, and one community at a time.
